In the news today, there are mounting numbers of people who are beginning to prepare. Some people do not even know what they are preparing for, but they are following the actions of others and are moving forward with their own preparations. It seems obvious that increasing numbers of people believe there is a coming “event” that impresses upon them the need to prepare.
The media is obviously picking up on the trend and are beginning to feature news and shows to highlight this growing phenomenon. Preparation centers and storage facilities are beginning to form in local communities, doomsday shelters are being sold in record numbers, and survivalist events are being held all over the Country. It is now moving into the mainstream.
That concerns me a bit. I feel impressed that we really must be very diligent in our preparations, but as we take action it is vital that we remain very prayerful and discerning.
Recently, I have heard the Father calling to prepare – but especially prepare by seeking a closer Faith in Him. He has reminded me that many people are preparing by building a boat – by storing provisions, growing a garden, or learning how to can corn.
Certainly, those are important tasks and will be helpful accomplishments during a tough period. But… having a boat is not enough to properly prepare for a storm. We must have Faith beyond the Boat. Consider this…
37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” Mark 4:37-40
The disciples were very experienced on the water, and very likely knew how to maneuver through rough seas. I feel pretty certain they had prepared for the journey and had the proper equipment and provisions on board. But… with all their task actions completed, they were still afraid with the storm hit.
Prepare for the journey, but build a Faith beyond the boat. Strengthen your relationship in He who is able to calm the storm.

In my lifetime, I have never seen such despair and ambivalence. People are afraid and many are losing hope. The times have impressed people to begin living more simple lives, and to prepare.
In fact, many people have felt a call to prepare and to be ready for the difficulties that are approaching. Those difficulties could be in the form of political or economic crisis, or they could be a catastrophic natural event like an earthquake or drought. Whatever the difficulty, countless families are now seeing the importance of preparing.
My family has been in active preparation for years now, although I’ve shared often that it is not what I assumed it to be. When I originally started on the journey of preparation, I assumed it was all about storing provisions and learning how to plant a garden. Certainly, those were/are important in the process of preparedness, but the real need of preparation is much greater.
God is calling us to a deeper Faith in Him. We can, and should, be better prepared for events that will impact us in a major way – but more than that, we need to be steadfast in our Faith. We need to be prepared to meet our God.
As we simplify our lives and look for ways to sustain our families in emergencies, we should also be preparing and softening our hearts to hear from God. Store the Word of God in our hearts, so when the times of troubled waters come – we are prepared.
“Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul. I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.” Psalms 69:1-3

Regardless of where we are in our lives everyone has something in their past that they often struggle with. The past always rears its head when we are pressing toward a consistent walk in the Spirit of God. Most are robbed of their present because they are still living under the bondage of their past. As well we cannot look with hope toward our future if we are constantly going back to factor in our past to make decisions. The past seems to affect every aspect of our life. The sequence with which we look at things seems to be through the eyes of our past, then the present, then the future. Somehow we need to be able to look at our future as a Child of God and factor our future into our present and this will release us of our past.
There is a problem as to why we cannot let go of our past. The hurt our past has caused us and others should be enough of a motivator to let it go, but we seem to hold on to our past with a passion. This perplexing problem has caused many in the body to lose control of their lives. Paul teaches us in Phil 3:13 “forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” By these words we understand the things before can play a significant role in forgetting the things behind.
We live in a society that is constantly asking the question why we do the things we do. Often instead of dealing with what we do we just want to find out why we do them. Now we have a place to put our past. I have learned through the years of pastoring and dealing with people that the past seems to take the blame for just about all of our present. While there may be some truth from a psychological standpoint concerning our past dictating action in our present we must learn to get past our past.
One of the reasons that we cannot let go of our past is that it becomes an excuse for our behavior in our present.
If the hurts of our past are gone then we are left without excuse to act the way we do or to hold on to an attitude that we are afraid we cannot break. What would we do if we have nothing to blame for our behavior. Then we are left to face the reality of our own selfish motives and sinful imperfections. This would mean we would have to change our lives in order to live with ourselves and let go of the pain and hurt that brings about other behavior that is not consistent with our belief structure.
Another reason we cannot let go of our past is it often is the only victory we can remember in our lives.
How many are still trapped living in the past victories we have experienced. We should always remember the victories of our past but never let them to cause us to stop pursuing more. Again Paul reminds us that we are more than conquerors. A conqueror is one who doesn’t stop at one victory but presses on to new battles and new victories. Some are looking for what God done in the past because they are hung on past victories and not living as a conqueror.
May God give us the strength to appropriate our future into our present thus destroying our past and go on to new battles and new victories fulfilling the soldier calling of being more than a conqueror through Christ Jesus our Lord.

In our world today, we are constantly faced with news of discord, conflict, and unrest. It can be easy to feel overwhelmed, anxious, and uncertain about the future. However, as believers in Christ, we have the assurance that God is with us, even in the midst of life’s storms.
The Bible is filled with accounts of individuals facing seemingly insurmountable challenges. In Mark 4:35-41, we read about Jesus and His disciples crossing the Sea of Galilee when a fierce storm arose. The disciples, filled with fear, woke Jesus, who was sleeping in the boat. With a simple command, Jesus calmed the wind and the waves, revealing His power over the elements and His ability to bring peace in the midst of chaos.
Just as Jesus brought peace to the disciples in the midst of the storm, He can bring peace to our hearts and minds in the midst of the discord and turmoil we face today. When we fix our eyes on Him and trust in His unfailing love and mercy, we can experience a supernatural calm that transcends our circumstances.
However, it is not enough to simply seek peace; we must also heed God’s promises and prepare for the challenges that lie ahead. In Luke 6:47-48, Jesus teaches, “Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when a flood occurred, the torrent burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built.” (NASB)
By building our lives on the solid foundation of God’s Word and putting our faith into action, we can withstand the storms of life. We must prioritize our relationship with God, spending time in prayer, studying the Scriptures, and surrendering our lives to His will. As we do so, we will find the strength and resilience needed to face any challenge that comes our way.
The Apostle Paul, no stranger to hardship and adversity, reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (NASB)
As we navigate the storms of life, let us cling to the promises of God, seek His peace through prayer and thanksgiving, and prepare our hearts and minds by building our lives on the firm foundation of His Word. May we find comfort in knowing that no matter what challenges we face, God is with us, and He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Joseph Report: The turmoils are going to increase. The battles are going to rage and become more difficult. Anger and bitterness will continue to ramp-up and divide people. There will be struggles, global health fears, and famine coming to the land – and America will soon see far greater discord and terror. The reality is, we must heed the call to prepare and lean on God for our strength. As the world around us grows darker, we must shine brighter, holding fast to our faith and trusting in the One who is able to keep us through every trial and tribulation. Let us not grow weary in doing good, but let us persevere, knowing that our labor in the Lord is not in vain (Galatians 6:9).
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, recognizing the discord and unrest that surrounds us. We pray for Your peace to fill our hearts and minds, even in the midst of the storms we face. Help us to trust in Your unfailing love and mercy, and to build our lives on the solid foundation of Your Word. Give us the strength and wisdom to face the challenges that lie ahead, knowing that You are with us every step of the way. As the world grows darker, help us to shine brighter, holding fast to our faith and trusting in You, our unshakable anchor. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. We thank You for Your faithfulness and the assurance that You will never leave us nor forsake us. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

Most people remain oblivious of what is going on with the USA. Our moral decline has reached epidemic status, and our churches have turned into entertainment venues – promoting a humanistic “feel good” gospel.
Some people are looking to our Government for answers, and have faith that our elected leaders will have the wisdom and courage to lead us into a new prosperous era. Charismatic leaders are emerging – and we now have people pledging an unholy allegiance to man, rather than calling out to a Holy God.
Pledging allegiance
It is quite disturbing that the church has fallen asleep. While the churches have been busy chasing lavish buildings, and competing for higher attendance, our society has fallen into peril.
Now, as things change rapidly, we will soon see more unrest and chaos. Our economic downfall is but the beginning of difficulties ahead. As the greatest investor in the world Warren Buffett puts it, the credit freeze is “sucking blood” out of the economy. “In my adult lifetime, I don’t think I’ve ever seen people as fearful,” he said.
If you doubt there is chaos looming, I wonder why our US Government is now activating an Army Brigade for duty (the first time in our history an active unit has been given a dedicated assignment to NorthCom) within our borders. Very unsettling.

They may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive, or CBRNE, attack.
Do you think the Government knows something we don’t?

There is so much uncertainty in the world right now. Everywhere you go, people seem discouraged and quite concerned about events that are taking place. If you listen to the news media (which I do not encourage), you know that there is a massive blitz taking place to put fear into the hearts of men.
Years ago, I felt the “Call to Preparation”‘. It was laid on my heart that we would experience difficult times, where panic would grip people, and fear would converge on nations.
In the midst of a storm, the human tendency is to look at the waves crashing against our vessel or at the dark clouds that keep us from seeing the sunshine. Our “flesh” is weakened by the fear for our safety and comfort.
The answer is always to look to the One who calms the storms – He who sits on the throne and offers us peace, joy, security, and direction.
The events and fears we are experiencing was placed in my heart over 8 years ago. Even as I have been preparing for years- my flesh still battles the difficulties, and I sense the burdens of others who are beginning to fall into despair.
My encouragement is to look away from the media and to trust in the One who walked on the water, the One who raised Lazarus from death, and the One who is returning for His bride.
Our God is Faithful!
Be encouraged as our Faith is not in the warped message of CNN. The media can/does manipulate world events by the seed they plant into the hearts of people. Now, for purposes yet exposed – the seed of fear is being planted and watered all over the world.
The emerging “global system” is being formed right before our eyes, and will be formed as a necessity to solve the current crisis. I’ll share more in the coming weeks, but strongly believe that NOW is the time Believers should be in strong prayer and preparation. NOT living in fear, but preparing for the great harvest that is ahead.
I strongly encourage believers not to enter into debt during this time. That goes against the very message we are being told by the media and government – as it is the base of our economic system. It is also part of the flesh desire for more “things” that has led to much of this crisis.
For my family, I have felt led to develop a “3-Year Plan”. I believe we have a “window” of three years before things get really interesting.
